TSKgel SW, SWxl and SuperSW (SW-type) columns are silica-based. A hydrophilic diol-type bonded phase shields the silica surface from interacting with protein samples. Compared to competitive HPLC columns, SW-type columns contain more pore volume per unit column volume, which results in higher MW selectivity or better resolution. Three different pore sizes are available:* 125Å pore size for analysis of small proteins and peptides* 250Å pore size for most protein samples and monoclonal antibody (mAb) monomer and dimer* 300Å pore size for mAb aggregates and multimers * 450Å pore size for very large proteins and nucleic acidsParticle sizes for the four SW-type column lines are 4 micron (SuperSW), 5-8 micron (SWxl), 10-13 micron (SW), and 3-4 micron (SW mAb). TSKgel UP-SW3000, the new 2 micron UHPLC column with 25 nm pore size, is the latest addition to the renowned TSKgel SW series. TSKgel UP-SW3000 represents the fifth generation of high performance gel filtration columns. They feature the same pore size as the well-established TSKgel G3000SWXL and facilitate method transfer from conventional gel filtration to UHPLC technology. The 15 cm column is used to shorten analysis time while maintaining resolution. The 30 cm column delivers dramatically increased resolution between fragments, monomers, and aggregates.
